“Let not your heart be troubled” Part two (Know Jesus)
Pastor David Gibson
Jan 16, 2022
In John 14 Jesus tells his disciples that when crisis comes, "let not your heart be troubled". The context is Jesus preparing them for the most intense thoughts and emotions they could have ever imagined as they would watch Him be arrested, beaten, and crucified. Jesus then tells us the way to not allow our thoughts and emotions to run wild. He says "believe in me". Knowing Jesus (intimacy and fellowship), makes believing Him easy. It's hard to trust someone you don't know, but the more we get to know Jesus and His love and goodness towards us, the easier it is to "believe". In 2022 Jesus is drawing us back to the simplicity of relationship with Him, which in turn builds confidence in His life in us no matter what we face.
