"7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. 9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them." - Psalm 19:7-11 (NLT)
One of the points in my message Sunday, titled "Too Many Shades of Grey", was that "Boundaries are Blessings". Often times we think God gives us boundaries to punish us, but the truth is they are there to protect us. We think they are there to hold us back from living, but the word of God tells us they are there to give us true life. To free us up to experience life to the fullest. Jesus himself said he came to bring life, and life to the fullest. The bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from above. Sex is a gift from God to bless us. He gave it to us to build intimacy, to build up purpose in our lives. The enemy offers a counterfeit version of intimacy called infatuation. What God gave us to build up intimacy, the enemy wants to distort it, to destroy intimacy. Would you be bold enough to see God's word as the standard, not just a suggestion? Would you have the faith to trust that the boundaries He gives us are actually there to bring joy and freedom to every area of our life? We serve a great and loving God, who loves to bless His children. Trust in Him!
