Summer Groups Launch - Wednesday's June 21st - August 9th

We like to switch things up a little bit during the summer. So this year we are doing Summer Groups at the Movies. This will be both fun and impactful as we dive into some of Hollywood’s biggest hits to unpack spiritual truths for our lives. Summer Groups at the Movies will be every Wednesday (June 21st-August 9th) from 6:30-8pm at the church. You can join any week throughout the summer. We will provide the popcorn, candy, and soda. Childcare will be offered for children 5th grade and under for the following cost: $5 for one child, $7 for two children, $10 for 3 or more children. Welcome Home Party - Sunday July 2nd

Have you recently started attending COM? If so, the Welcome Home Party is a great chance for you to come and meet others who are newer to COM, and a great opportunity to meet some of our leaders and staff. This event features a cookout, family fun activities, gifts, and more. The Welcome Home Party is the first Sunday of every month at 1pm. 2017 Men's Conference

This Conference is designed to empower, equip, and even you challenge you to walk in the victory Christ won for you. We have an incredible line up of speakers, powerful worship, and a fun-filled day that you'll be talking about for a long time.

Easter Follow-Up

Hey COM family, Brooke and I are so proud of the way so many of you “stepped out in faith” for family and friends, by doing whatever it took to get them to Easter at COM. We saw God honor your faith by transforming so many lives at our Easter Services. I know there are a few scenarios you may have encountered with your friends and family on Easter, and I want to give you some input on each of those scenarios:

"My family member/friend got saved/rededicated their life to Jesus on Easter Sunday…Now What?"

First off, that is the best news ever, so celebrate that like crazy and give God all the praise. How amazing is it that God moved through you in a big way to transform your family member/friends life! There is no greater purpose than being a part of Jesus changing someone’s life. Secondly, your family member/friend did not cross the finish line on Sunday, they just left the starting block. God has an amazing purpose for their life. They’re now a disciple of Christ, and disciples continue to grow and begin making other disciples. So it’s very important to help them get in environments where this can happen. A big first step is to bring them back to church this Sunday. Sadly, many churches double on Easter Sunday, and then go back to their normal numbers on the Sunday after Easter. Not only is it crucial they connect to Christ, but also His Church (people). Invite them to come with you to the next Welcome Home Party at COM. Encourage them to attend our Discover Events, in fact, tell them you will go with them. Invite them to come to the Motion Group you are currently in. Look for ways to help them get connected to the family at COM and begin participating in what God is doing here. Every person wants to be needed and known, and these are great ways to see that happen with your family member/friend.

"My family member/friend came to Easter Service, but did not make any type of decision for Christ…Now What?"

First off, rejoice that they came and heard the Gospel. Here’s what you can be confident in, seeds were planted in that person. They heard the good news; in fact they even heard how they could be saved. Jesus said when it comes to the harvest of a soul (salvation), there is planting, there is watering, and then there is the harvest. We saw harvest on Sunday in those that accepted Christ, but for others seeds were planted, or watered, and it’s only a matter of time before the harvest comes. A great next step is to invite them back to church with you. I truly believe, someone can only be in the power and the presence (in church) for so long before they give their life to Christ. You also now have some great conversation starters with that friend/family member. Ask them, what did you think of Easter Service? What did you think of Pastor David’s message? What are you “filling in the blank” with right now? What do you think about Jesus saying he is the only way?

"I invited a friend/family member to church but they did not come…Now What?"

Don’t give up!! The same guy invited me to a young adults group at my church almost every week for a year before I came and was saved. You never know when something may be going on in that person that may lead them to say yes to your invite. Also, the way you live your life around that person is a big part of what their answer may be to your invitation. Live in a way that they want to know more about what is going on in your life. So don’t get discouraged, continue to pray for that person. Remember, the battle is won in the spiritual first. Pray for them daily. And then keep stepping out in faith weekly, doing whatever you can to bring them to church with you.

Lastly, let me encourage you to make bringing/inviting something you do every week. On a normal Sunday, over 80% of people say they would say yes to an invite to church from someone they know. What could happen in our city if each of us saw our circle of influence as the mission field God gave us? I am joining you in prayer for the people God has put around you, and for the boldness to continue to invest and step out in faith for them.

Specific Church Needs

Hey COM family, 1-2 times a year we post specific needs at COM that are outside of what we budgeted for. We ask our church family to pray about giving over and above their tithe to meet these specific needs. If you have any questions about a specific need, or would like to provide one (or more) of these items, shoot us an email at hello@churchofmotion.com. Also, all these items are considered charitable donations for tax purposes.

Sub-Woofers - $700

We have had quite a few comments lately about how much better the low end (bass) sound has been in our services. This increase in excellence is because we've been borrowing subs from Grace Community Church here in Sarasota. We were borrowing them to test them out and see how big of a difference they would make in our sound. Grace Community Church is only asking we pay $700 total for them when they are worth $1,400. So they are giving us 50% off what they would normally sell for since were another local church in town.

Motion Kids TV Cart - $125

We are looking for a TV Cart for Motion Kids. We already have a 40” flat screen TV, but because it has to be portable, we're looking for a TV cart to make it easy to move around from room to room. Motion Kids MacBook Pro Computer - $1,500

This will be used to run services (slides, videos, music, etc) for Motion Kids services on Sundays, and also provide on the spot access to Motion Kids curriculum.

ARC Conference 2017 - $1,500

We as the staff team are always looking for ways to grow our gifts. Going to ministry conferences is a great opportunity to learn and grow together, and it also provides a place to get away together, and build our team dynamics. These conferences always encourage us to dream bigger and gives practical ideas on how we can improve different areas of our church. Baptism T-Shirts- $400 These are shirts that people wear when they get baptized and then get to keep to help them remember and celebrate their baptism

Give-away T-Shirts- $1,000 Given out to people at the Welcome Home Party and Discover as a gift for joining our COM family. Not only are these a great gift, but a great marketing tool for COM as well.

Outreach T-Shirts - $600 For volunteers to wear at our community outreaches.

Food Donations

We are looking for some local restaurants to donate food for our Dream Team (while they serve) on Sunday mornings and also for our Welcome Home Party (First Sunday of each month). These donations would be considered charitable donations for the restaurant and they would be able to write it off on their taxes. Let us know if you, or someone you know may be able to bless our church in this way.

FIRST - 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

January 15th-February 4th

"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." - Matthew 6:33 (NLT)

We believe 2017 can be your best year yet, if it's your best year spiritually. This is why we're starting off the year seeking God "FIRST". The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God...Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. In both the Old and New Testament, God powerfully rewarded those who fasted. Quite simply, fasting gives us supernatural advantages in living life. For example, the book of Isaiah says: Those who fast get healing (Isa.58). Jesus said: Those who fast get power over demonic oppression (Mk 9). Again, Isaiah said: Those who fast will live like kings: “You’ll ride on the heights of the land” (Isa.58); When Ezra fasted, God gave protection over his kids & possessions. When Daniel fasted God gave him understanding (Dan.9). When Eliazar Fasted God gave him a woman! (Some of you Men suddenly started taking notes). When Jesus started his earthly ministry, one of the 1st things he did was fast. And don’t misunderstand me: Fasting won’t make God love you more. You can’t earn your way into heaven. However, like the author of Hebrews reminds us: “God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Heb. 11:6).

So we're encouraging our entire church family to join in on the 21 days of prayer and fasting, and we're believing it will be a catalyst for a year where God does more in and through us than we ever could of dreamt or imagined.

Below is helpful information as you prepare for the 21 days of prayer and fasting.

HOW TO GET STARTED ON YOUR FAST

Having a successful fast starts with the right preparation. It is important to choose ahead of time what type of fast, or what combination you will pursue. Not only will this help with making the necessary preparations to implement your plan, but as you commit to a specific fast ahead of time and know how you’re going to do it, you will position yourself to finish strong.

Here are a few Easy Steps to Get Started:

1) Set Your Objective

Begin by deciding why you are fasting. Is it for spiritual renewal, for healing, for wisdom in a particular area, or the resolution of a specific issue? Pick the top 1-3 prayer requests or things you would like to seek God on. Don’t overwhelm yourself and make a laundry list of items. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead in deciding and clarifying your goals for fasting.

2) Choose Your Plan

We are all at different places in our walk with God. Likewise our jobs, daily schedules, and health conditions are all different and place various levels of demand on our energy. So most importantly, whether you’ve fasted before, or this will be your first time, prayerfully consider what your fast will look like. Your personal fast should have a high level of challenge to it, but it’s very important to know your own body, know your options, and most importantly, seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. Remember, the goal of fasting is not just to do without food. The goal is draw nearer to God.

3) Choose Your Fasting Schedule

You may choose to fast all or several days of the 21 days, such as, 3 or 4 days a week or specifically on Sundays and Wednesdays. Maybe you will do that, and end with 3 to 7 consecutive days at the end. This is your personal decision, and again should be prayerfully considered as it applies to your circumstances. Just plan ahead.

4) Begin and Break the Fast Well

Depending on the type of fast you choose, it is very important to prepare your body ahead of time before beginning the fast. Take a week or so to transition into your fast; otherwise, you could get sick. For example, if you would like to go on fruits and vegetables or juice fast, start eliminating meat, white grains, and refined sugars from your diet the week before. Also start to cut back quite a bit on dairy products and some of your caffeine intake.

This same principle applies to breaking your fast. When your fast is over, add foods back very gradually. Your body will be so cleansed and detoxified. You will most likely get sick if you add too much rich foods, etc. all at once.

Types of Fasts

While preparing for your fast, it is important to choose ahead of time what type of fast you will participate in. There is nothing more “inherently spiritual” about one type of fast as opposed to another.Your personal fast should present a level of challenge to it, but know your body, know your options, and most importantly, seek God in prayer about this and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. It’s also important to not let what you eat or do not eat become the focus of your fast. This is a time to disconnect enough with your regular patterns and habits in order to connect closer to God. Listed below, are some options and variations of different types of fasts you can choose to engage in. As you read over the information provided here, please consider how it applies to your circumstances and convictions. Fasting does require reasonable precautions. If you have any health concerns, please consult your physician prior to beginning your fast – especially if you are taking medication, have a chronic condition, or if you are pregnant or nursing.

Specific Food or Activity Fast

This type of fast refers to omitting a specific item(s), activity or habit from your time of prayer and fasting. For example, you may choose to eliminate red meat, processed or fast food, or sweets. It could also involve fasting from an activity or habit, such as television watching, or social media.

Daniel Fast (http://danielplan.com/)

The Daniel fast is a great model to follow that proves to be extremely effective for spiritual focus, bodily discipline and purification in the body and soul. It is probably one of the most commonly referred to types of fasts, however within the term “Daniel Fast”, there is room for broad interpretation. In the book of Daniel, we find two different times where Daniel fasted, once in Daniel 1 and again in Daniel 10. Daniel 1 states that he ate vegetables and water, and in Daniel 10, while the passage does not give a specific list of foods that Daniel ate, it does state that Daniel ate no rich (or choice) foods as well as no meat or wine. So based on these two verses, we can see that either of these, or any variations in between constitutes a fast. Again, there is nothing “inherently spiritual” about one type of fast as opposed to another. It is important to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. Juice Fast

A juice fast is when no solid food is consumed and instead involves the intake of vegetable juices, fruit juices and water. Some juicing resources that we recommend include:

Water Fast

A water fast is eating no foods and drinking no liquids except water for a period of time. Extreme precautions should be taken with a water fast and should be done under the direction supervision and monitoring of your physician.

Duration and Extent of Your Fast

"FIRST" is intentionally designed to be flexible. As with choosing what type of fast you will be undertaking, it is important to also decide ahead of time how long you will be fasting and to what extent you will be fasting. Some people may choose to fast at one level all 21 days and then culminate with a special 3 day fast at the end. Others may choose to fast one week out of the 21 days, or even fast once or twice a week throughout the 21 day period. This is a personal decision and one that should be prayerfully considered.

Kids Fasting Resources

An easy way to explain the benefits of prayer and fasting to kids is to compare it to cleaning out old toys that might no longer work, or that they might have outgrown, to make room for new ones. As we clean out our bodies and make time to connect closer to God and His Word, we make room to receive new gifts from Him.

Kids Fasting How-To’s

We do not recommend that children skip meals or drastically reduce their food intake, but a modification of their diet might prove to be an easy place to start. For example, fasting from specific items such as sweets, red meats, fried foods or even introducing a form of the Daniel fast which includes legumes, nuts and whole grains is a great way for children to participate in a safe and healthy way.*

Another great way to fast is by reducing some of the time and energy spent watching TV, playing video games, using the computer or phone, and instead choosing to spend time praying, reading their Bible or serving others.

Refer to this “Sample Fasting Calendar for Kids” as an additional resource for you and your kids during the fasting season.

The main thing is for kids to recognize the value behind setting aside special times to disconnect from some of the extra-curricular activities and treats they enjoy on a regular basis and learn how to connect to God in a closer way. Write down a few prayer requests and pray together for those things throughout the fast.

Christmas at COM

You're invited to our Christmas Eve Candlelight Services where we're going to celebrate the birth of Jesus! This will be a fun, exciting, and family friendly evening featuring an inspiring Christmas message from Pastor David, and incredible worship and Christmas carols from our Motion Worship team. Motion Kids will be available at both services for children 3 and under. Both Christmas Eve Services will also feature the full stories of our Motion Miracles, which will leave you with tears of joy, and inspired to make 2017 a year of incredible generosity, as we celebrate the greatest act of generosity our world has ever seen, Jesus! We hope to see you Christmas Eve at COM. Service Times are 4pm and 6pm.

In-between services, there will be live Christmas music in the lobby, along with a hot cocoa bar, cookies, and more.

Motion Miracles

Hey Church family, we are so thankful for everyone God has been bringing together to meet some of the needs listed for Motion Miracles. So far a car has been donated, the starter for the pontiac Bonneville, mechanics have donated time to work on the vehicles, groceries, cash, and give cards to meet needs, a mold specialist has donated his time for an inspection, and more. We are praying and believing for the following needs to still be met so we can bless these individuals that were nominated for Motion Miracles.

  1. A new or used working vehicle
  2. New or used Van (mini-van or 12 passenger)
  3. 14" Tires for a truck (new or used, but in good condition)
  4. Pest Control- willing to help us take care of a rat infested home. We will be able to provide workers in order to help.
  5. Workers to help with a mold situation once the mold inspector diagnoses what needs to be done in a safe and secure way.
  6. Donated certificates for the following: Spa Treatment, Pedicure and Manicure, Clothing (For men and women), Gas, Restaurant, and Grocery.
  7. A truck and man power, to pick up and deliver A washer and dryer.
  8. Groceries: A Large amount of groceries are needed. Non-Perishables can be dropped off at church at any time. Meats, produce, dairy products can be dropped off prior to our Christmas Eve Service. Grocery gift cards will work as well.

It's been incredible to see the church family come together to pull off the vision God has put on our hearts for Christmas. Let's continue to work hard together to see everyone of these needs met this Christmas season.

We have a float in the Downtown Holiday Parade this year. We need help from our church family to walk beside the float and pass out candy canes and invite cards to our Christmas Eve Services. Party with a Purpose Fundraiser- Sunday December 4th

Our very First Shopping Extravaganza!!! Skip the mall and come join us for a great shopping experience! Vendors that will be there includes Park Lane Jewelry, Thirty-One bags, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay and Scentsy!!! Part of the proceeds will go towards the men's and women's conferences, and help towards our Nicaragua Mission Trip. The Party is at COM at 1pm.

Christmas Eve Services - Saturday December 24th

Christmas Eve is always a special time together at COM. This year we are offering two identical services where we will celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. Service Times are 4pm and 6pm.

Impact- Investing In The Next Generation

Beach Baptisms- May 22nd

Our next Beach Baptisms will be held Sunday, May 22nd at Siesta Key Beach at 5pm. Look for the Church of Motion flags in the picnic area, and bring a side to share. We want everyone who calls COM home to help us celebrate what an amazing step this is! We will be providing hotdogs, drinks, and games. You don't want to miss this evening of celebration. Beloved- COM's First Women's Retreat

Join us as we worship together, hear from other women who are walking through, or have walked through the same life circumstances as you are, and of course plenty of time to chat and snack. Easter 2016

The Resurrection changes everything. It did that day when Jesus rose from the grave, and it still impacts our life now in powerful ways. You're invited to celebrate Easter with us this year at COM. Its going to be a powerful and inspiring service and we believe your life will be changed forever.

We will also have appearances by the Easter Bunny, an Easter Photo Booth to take family pictures, giveaways, and more. Motion Kids (children 6wks-5th grade) will learn about the resurrection on a level they can understand, while having the time of their life. Kids will participate in an Easter Egg Hunt during both services.

We are offering two identical services at 9:15am and 11:15am. Pick the service time you want to attend and trust us, you won't want to show up late. Service will start with a bang. See you Easter Sunday at COM!

SEEK - 7 Days of Prayer and Fasting

We're starting off 2016 "seeking God above all else" by participating in 7 days of prayer and fasting together as a church family. The 7 days are a time to seek God and commit to living a God first life throughout the year. We invite you to join us January 14th-20th as we begin the new year seeking after the heart of God. The church will be open at 6:30am every weekday throughout the fast for prayer. We will end the fast together in a powerful way at our Night of Celebration featuring worship, a message from Pastor David, and an after-party celebrating 3 years as a church.

Like prayer and Bible reading, fasting is one of the spiritual disciplines of followers of Jesus. Take advantage of the resources below to help you get your mind around fasting, and help you begin this powerful experience.

Pray and Believe With Us For These...

Hey COM family, I wanted to share some specific ministry resource needs in our church and ask you to pray and believe with me for them. We are a family, so I wanted to let you know some of the needs for a couple reasons. First, so you can be aware and join us in praying and believing for these needs to be met. Secondly, so you can pray about giving above and beyond your normal tithe to meet these needs. We don't do this very often, but every time we do, our church family has stepped up in a big way. I love being a part of a culture that truly "Leads the way in Generosity". So here are some things we are praying and believing for:

  1. Orange Curriculum for Motion Kids. Orange is an amazing curriculum that our Motion Kids program uses to teach kids about Jesus on a level they can understand. The total cost of this curriculum is $1,875 annually. We've had two families already step up and give $1,300 of this. So we're praying for $575 more.   2. A TV that will be used for our Discover Events and for Motion Kids Worship. Total cost is around $500.

  3. Pro-Presenter upgrade. We currently use a program called Pro-Presenter to run the multi-media for service. We have pro-presenter 5 which is two years behind the latest edition, which is Pro Presenter 7. Along with this, we also need to buy a splitter that will split the feed to the 3 screens we use for service. The total cost of this will be around $600.

  4. T-Shirts for all volunteers and giveaways at the VIP Party. Total cost will be around $600.

  5. Rachel Batey (our Motion Kids Director) has asked that we pray for a Guest Services Coordinator for Motion Kids. This person would oversee check-in, greeting, and VIP for Motion Kids.

  6. Cam Stockton (our Worship Pastor) has asked that we pray and believe for a Keys player for Motion Worship. Someone that loves Jesus, loves worship, and loves the vision of this House.

  7. Brooke has asked that we pray and believe for a Production Director for Motion Live. This person would oversee the production team which includes sound, lyrics, lights, and stage help.

  8. Vanessa Lopez (First Impressions Team Leader) has asked that we pray and believe for team leaders for a couple teams within FIT.

  9. BIG PRAYER REQUEST: The lease at our current location ends this year. We are praying and believing for God to either reduce our rent and utilities here at our current location by 50% or open up a door somewhere else that meets our needs at that price. This will free us up to do more ministry instead of Rent and Utilities taking such a big chunk out of what we bring in.

Raised to Life Sunday

I love weekends! I love doing fun things with my family. I love watching college football on Saturday. I love getting to just relax. But my favorite part of the weekend, is going to church as a family. I love church. It's a blast, and I believe every Sunday God moves in incredible ways when we come together and celebrate and proclaim Jesus.

With that said, I'm praying and believing this Sunday is going to be the best Sunday we've ever had at COM. I believe we are going to see many lives transformed by Jesus and people "Raised to Life" in Him.

Last Sunday I preached a message where we talked about embracing the statement "It's Not About Me", and I asked you to do whatever it takes to invite/bring someone who doesn't know Christ to church this Sunday believing for their salvation. I'm going to be preaching a message called "Raised to Life", and it's going to be a simple gospel message where people will have the opportunity to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.

So since we're in this together and better together, I am asking you to do a few things:

1. Pray. Pray for boldness and courage to invite. Pray that God would open the heart of the person(s) you are going to invite and bring to church. Pray that they would be willing to come. Pray that God would begin to work in them prior to Sunday. Pray and believe for them to be "raised to life" this Sunday. Pray that the Holy Spirit would draw many people to hear the Gospel, and would convict them of their sin, and they will repent, and turn to Jesus. Pray that what happens Sunday, only God can get the credit for.

2. Refuse to come alone this Sunday. Invite/bring someone to church this week that doesn't know Christ. This could be a classmate, co-worker, friend, family member, or neighbor. Would you do whatever it takes (embrace the uncomfortable, take them to breakfast, treat them to lunch, etc) to get them to church Sunday, believing if you can get them in the presence of Jesus, He will do something great in their life.

3. Participate. Be prayed up, punctual, and prepared to serve this weekend. Let's be prepared and ready to honor every person that God entrusts to our care on Sunday. Let's make sure every person feels loved, welcomed, accepted, and honored from the moment they pull in our parking lot. Let's bring our best, believing this Sunday is someones "One Day". Can't wait for Sunday! I'm praying and believing with you that God is going to honor your faith and your friend/family member is going to move from "unsaved to saved" on Sunday.

At COM, we LOVE our local schools! Join us in serving the staff of Fruitville Elementary on August 19th. We will be serving breakfast and helping teachers set up their classrooms. Thursday August 20th - Ladies Night

Ladies Night is a quarterly gathering for the women of our church. Join us for a night out with the girls featuring coffee, chocolate, and an encouraging message from Brooke on the joy of living life with gratitude. This event will be from 7-9pm at the church.

Sunday August 23nd - Beach Party

At COM, we know how to party. One of the things we love to celebrate as a church is people taking their next step by getting baptized. The baptisms will take place at Siesta Key Beach at 4pm followed by a cookout. Look for the Green and White Church of Motion flags by the main picnic pavilion at Siesta Key Beach.

Baptism is the next step after salvation. Its an act of obedience since Jesus told us to get baptized and also how we go public with our faith. When dunked under water, it symbolizes that you have died to sins control over your life, and when you come up out of the water, it symbolizes that you are a new person in Christ. A Response to Yesterday's SCOTUS Ruling...

I have been thinking a lot about everyone's responses on the recent Supreme Court ruling, legalizing gay marriage. Because I believe it's important that Dave and I speak boldly to our church, I have a deep desire to post our thoughts on the matter. Because I have friends and loved-ones who are apart of the LGBTQ community, I also have a deep desire to speak truth in love, to almost protect my friends. I have read countless of posts, I have prayed, I have checked my heart and I believe it is important to share with Church of Motion my heart on the issue. That's who this post is for, my COM family.

My first point is this: if you have not stopped and thought about and prayed for the hearts of your LGBTQ friends, neighbors, co-workers etc. then you shouldn't be making a post. Jesus always thinks about the heart of his people first, and Jesus always approaches his people (not their sin) with grace, love, and acceptance. Regardless of our sin, Jesus still loves, still waits, and still pursues us. Man am I thankful for that, cause The Lord knows I've made countless of mistakes in my life.

My second point is this: If you feel called to respond, respond like Jesus would. The best blog post I've read to date on this matter was interestingly enough, written last year. It says by Newspring Church, I'm assuming it's written by Pastor Perry Noble- but I'm not positive. But here it is:


"5 Things Jesus Says To The Gay Community

1. I love you.

Amidst the protest signs, yelling crowds, and political referendums, the simple message of Jesus’ love for you is often drowned out. Never doubt that Jesus loves you more than you could ever know. Jesus doesn’t just love a future version of you; He loves you exactly as you are right now. Jesus’ love for you has no prerequisites or requirements. Even if you hate Him, Jesus loves you and wants what is best for you. Love is at the core of everything Jesus taught. Unfortunately His message of love has been conveniently left out by many who would rather make a point than make a difference (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8-10; Romans 5:8; Psalm 86:15).

2. I understand rejection.

Jesus knows how it feels to be a social outcast. You would think the religious leaders would have been His best friends, but they hated Him. They sought to kill Him and publicly shame Him any chance they had. Eventually, the religious elite joined forces with local politicians and murdered Jesus in front of a cheering crowd. Rejection hurts. Jesus’ own family thought He was out of His mind; you probably understand how that feels. In Jesus’ greatest moment of need, His closest friends deserted Him.

You may feel rejected by society and the church right now, and that daily pressure takes a toll. Jesus understands. His heart always breaks for the rejected and the outcast. Jesus wants to gather you in His arms and let you know that He loves you. You have a home with Jesus, you belong to Him, and you are His child. Don’t reject Him because He has not rejected you (Isaiah 53:3; Mark 3:20-21; Matthew 26:55-56; Matthew 27; Ezekiel 18:21-23).

3. I also was tempted.

Jesus was tempted in every way that we are tempted. He does not shame you or reject you because of your temptations and feelings. He faced the same thing when He walked the earth. He never married, and faced daily pressure and temptation in every way imaginable. Some like to pretend they are perfect and never face any struggles, but they’re lying. Jesus really was perfect and still faced temptation. He battled the desire to run away from His Father’s plan.

He understands what you are going through. If you read about His life, you will see it was no cake walk, but if you will walk with Him and obey Him, you will find a greater reward than you could ever imagine (Hebrews 4:15-16; Hebrews 2:17-18; Hebrews 12:2-3, 7-11).

4. I want more for you.

God created marriage and sex for your enjoyment. Sex was created for one man and one woman within the covenant of marriage, and it has been that way from the beginning. Anything else is sin. Sin is not a fun word or a comfortable topic, but Jesus will not stop bringing it to our attention because we will miss out on life with Him if sin is left unaddressed. You may think Jesus is trying to take the one thing you enjoy or spoil your fun, but that is not the case.The reason He clearly defined marriage and sex in the Bible is because He wants what is best for you.

Ignore the political arguments, the protestors, and the yelling. Jesus wants you to trust Him. Trust that He has good things in store for you. Trust that He wants what is best for you. Before you decide that what you feel is right, decide if you trust Him (Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 3:17-21; 1 Timothy 2:4).

5. I will be here for you.

You may disagree with Jesus’s thoughts on sex and marriage, but He will not turn away from you. You may enjoy the life you live right now even if it disagrees with the guidelines He laid out in Scripture. Jesus understands your hesitation to make changes. He does not give up on us. For a long time now, people have disagreed with Him, yelled at Him, and run from Him, and He patiently waits. Jesus is patient with us because He wants you to know Him. Jesus wants you to live the life He has planned for you. When you are worn out from doing things your way, He will be here. Turn to Him and ask for help, and He will be there before you can blink.

There is no permanent joy outside of Jesus. Jesus wants what is best for you, and He wants you to experience a full life. Jesus is not concerned with winning an argument or forcing you to do something you don’t want to do. Jesus wants you to know that your relationship with Him is better than anything else out there. Until you reach that point, He will be here patiently drawing you to Himself (Romans 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 Peter 5:7; Hosea 14)."


I love how Jesus approaches a matter. He tells them He loves them (true authentic love), that He understands and can relate. But then, and this is very important when understanding Gods love for us, He shows them a better way, and even if they can't accept it right now, He promises never to leave them, to never stop pursuing them. Man I love my Jesus!!!

My third, and last point is this: If you're a Christian, condoning and celebrating what the Bible labels as sin, is not Love. I have seen so many posts down playing what Biblical love is- it to be honest makes me sick, no it makes me sad. I never want myself to fall into either one of these categories: The bashing and shaming Christian or the Christian who speaks lies out of "love". True love is speaking truth in love. Jesus' example in the blog above is perfect. Seriously, is His example not the perfect one? I mean Jesus is Lord of all, the King of Kings. So why are we neglecting His example when responding to this recent event or any controversial topic or event for that matter. See, if there's anything I've noticed by reading the majority of posts on Facebook, is the Christian community needs to spend a heck of a lot more time in Gods Word than they do on Facebook.

Love won over 2000 years ago when Jesus laid down His life for us. COM family, we have a great opportunity to be the church the world needs right now. Speak truth in love.

Thrill Sequence Series

The resurrection isn't just something He did, it's who He is. Anything Jesus touches has to come to life. He is hope, He is Joy, He is freedom, He is life! Boundaries are Blessings

"7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. 9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them." - Psalm 19:7-11 (NLT)

One of the points in my message Sunday, titled "Too Many Shades of Grey", was that "Boundaries are Blessings". Often times we think God gives us boundaries to punish us, but the truth is they are there to protect us. We think they are there to hold us back from living, but the word of God tells us they are there to give us true life. To free us up to experience life to the fullest. Jesus himself said he came to bring life, and life to the fullest. The bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from above. Sex is a gift from God to bless us. He gave it to us to build intimacy, to build up purpose in our lives. The enemy offers a counterfeit version of intimacy called infatuation. What God gave us to build up intimacy, the enemy wants to distort it, to destroy intimacy. Would you be bold enough to see God's word as the standard, not just a suggestion? Would you have the faith to trust that the boundaries He gives us are actually there to bring joy and freedom to every area of our life? We serve a great and loving God, who loves to bless His children. Trust in Him!

Why Should I Join a Motion Group?

This Sunday is "Motion Group Sunday" at COM, which means the launch of our Spring Semester Small Groups.

So maybe you're asking, is it really that big of a deal that I join a Motion Group? We believe it is, and here's 4 quick reasons why:

1. We All Need to Move from Disconnected to Connected to a Life Giving Community.

At Church of Motion, one of our greatest passions is to see every person connected to the life of our church. One of the major ways this happens is through our Motion Groups. Motion Groups are a place where you can be encouraged, protected, prayed for, challenged, loved, known, and growing with other people chasing after the heart of God.

2. We're Better Together!

Life is just better in relationships. In fact, according to The Bible, we can't do life alone. Hebrews 10:23-25 says: "23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."

3. Life Change Happens in the Context of Relationships

When you think about some of the defining moments in your life, chances are they came through a relationship. So much of our growth comes from doing life in a healthy life giving group of people, that are encouraging and motivating each other to grow in their relationship with Christ. In fact, you will never experience all Church of Motion has to offer until you join a group.

4. Fun!

Motion Groups are not just another thing to pile on to your already busy schedule, and add to you feeling overwhelmed and stressed. In fact, Motion Groups are just the opposite. Motion Groups add value and are life-giving. Motion Groups are something you will look forward to each week because of how much joy you feel, and the fun you have at your group!

So there it is. These are just 4 quick reasons why you should join a group this Sunday at Church of Motion. We promise, it will take your walk with Christ to a whole notha level! Just give it a try!

Should I get Baptized?

This Sunday, as part of our 2 Year Celebration, we will be doing baptisms in service. So should you get baptized this Sunday? Here are some baptism facts to help you decide if you should get baptized this Sunday.

Baptism Facts:

Why Should I Be Baptized?

  1. To follow the example set by Christ. “At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” (Mark 1:9)
  2. Because Christ commanded it. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20)
  3. It demonstrates I am a Believer. “We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.” (1 John 2:3)

What Is The Meaning Of Baptism?

It illustrates Christ's death, burial and resurrection. “ For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) “Having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.” (Colossians 2:12)

Why Be Baptized By Immersion?

  1. Because Jesus was baptized that way. “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.” (Matthew 3:16a) “As Jesus was coming up out of the water…” (Mark 1:10)
  2. Every Baptism in the Bible was by immersion.(for example) “Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water…” (Acts 8:38–39)
  3. The word “baptize” means “to dip or immerse.”
  4. It best symbolized a burial and resurrection. “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3–4)

Who Should Be Baptized?

Every person who believes in Christ should be baptized. Believers realize their sin separates them from God. They conclude that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross bridges the gap between them and God. Having decided to trust Christ alone for their salvation, they follow Christ in baptism as a symbol of their new life in Christ.

What About Children?

The New Testament shows no example of baptism when the person did not request it. All instances of baptism follow an individual’s decision to trust Christ alone for their salvation (Acts 2:41, 8:12, 10:47–48). At Church of Motion we wait until the child is old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. When a child makes a decision for Christ, we gladly baptize them as a symbol of their faith in Christ.

What About Infant Baptism?

In the Bible we find parents bringing children to Jesus. He held them and prayed for them and told us to welcome them. But he did not baptize them, and he did not tell anyone to baptize them. Baptism is a public profession of salvation (as the Bible teaches), and only people who have intentionally received salvation should experience baptism. If you have not experienced adult baptism, even though you have experienced baptism as an infant, the full meaning and significance of baptism has yet to take place in your life. We strongly encourage you to be baptized as an adult believer in Christ.

When Should I Be Baptized?

As soon as you have believed in Christ for salvation.“But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” (Acts 8:12)

Should I Be Baptized Immediately After Salvation?

The Bible teaches that baptism should follow your decision to become a believer. There is no reason to delay. If you wait until you are “good” enough, you will never feel ready for baptism. Since baptism is not a part of your salvation but a symbol of it, it is ok to wait until the next scheduled baptism.

What Do l Wear?

We will give you a COM black baptism shirt to wear for baptism. You will get to keep this shirt. You can wear dark shorts with this shirt for the baptism. Remember to bring a change of clothes to wear home. There is a changing room available. Please bring a towel.

The 21 Days are a time to seek God and commit to living a God first life throughout the year. Church of Motion is the place to be on Christmas Eve!

We invite you to join us for one of our special Christmas Eve Candlelight Services. We will offer two identical services at 3pm and 5pm. In-between services, we will offer many Christmas favorites such as cookies, hot chocolate, coffees, pictures by the Christmas Tree, and more. Each service will offer our full Motion Kids program for children 6 weeks - 5th Grade.

This years service will be spectacular. It will feature many traditional christmas songs, an inspirational and powerful message, and we will even be joined at the end of service by Motion Kids as we close out service by candle light.

Hey COM Family,

I'm so excited about what God is doing in our church right now. I want to thank you for being inviters and refusing to come to church alone. Because you have committed to "Invite and Bring", we have had an average of 10 VIPs every Sunday over the last month. And even bigger than this, we've seen around 30 people move from Unsaved to Saved over the last few months. I'm so proud of the way you stay focused on the 312k in our city that don't know Christ and aren't connected to His church.

With that said I have a HUGE announcement. We were planning for the last couple months on only doing one Christmas Eve service this year. But within the last week, God started to lay on our teams heart to do two. He told us to step out in faith and provide two opportunities for people to come and hear the greatest message in the world. We've never done two services at Church of Motion, and so we're so excited to be able to provide two opportunities for people to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our service times will be at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and we will have cookies, hot chocolate, and other Christmas favorites in-between services. This years service will also include Motion Kids joining us for one of the traditional Christmas songs we will sing. Here are some things I'm asking from you:

1. Pray - Join us in praying that God will bring in 250 people this Christmas Eve to hear what Christmas is truly about. Pray for salvations and people to get connected to the church. Pray for Motion Kids, that children would learn that Christmas is way bigger and better than just Santa, reindeer, presents and Christmas trees. Pray that people would respond to invitations to come to church and their hearts would be opened to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

2. Get excited!! We're so honored and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate on Christmas Eve not just once, but twice. Let's be filled with excitement and anticipation for what God is going to do this Christmas Eve.

3. Be Inviters and Bringers! Start spreading the word. Invite family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, servers, classmates, etc. People are more willing to come to church this time of year, than any other. Let's capitalize on that. Here are some ways to invite. 1. Invite Cards - you will receive a stack of invite cards this Sunday at COM to begin passing out. There will be extra available at the Connect Station. 2. Social Media - change your profile picture to the Christmas Eve Service Graphic posted on our Church of Motion Facebook page. Start sharing our Christmas Eve posts and use social media as a tool to invite people to our Christmas Eve Services. 3. Go the extra mile. Don't just invite, but offer to bring someone. Often times what prevents people from coming to church is they feel like they will be alone. Tell them to come with you or meet you in the parking lot before they walk in.

4. Participate - I'm asking our church family to choose one of the services to attend, and the other to serve at. If you're currently serving on a team, you will be contacted by your team leader and be able to confirm on Planning Center Online like normal. If you're not currently serving at COM, we would like to ask for your help on Christmas Eve. Email Zac Ross at zacross@churchofmotion.com and let him know what service you are able to serve at.

I'm so excited to celebrate Christmas with you, and am full of anticipation and expectation for what's to come.

5 Things I'm Praying For

Hey COM Family, I wanted to share 5 things that I've been praying through lately, and wanted to ask you to join me in praying over these for our church and city.

  1. Pray for awakening in our city. Ephesians 5:14 says “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” Let's pray for God to awake the unsaved and disconnected in our city. Pray for such a spiritual hunger, that every Jesus believing, Bible preaching church in our city, is full of people and having to build bigger buildings/start new campuses, to hold the masses that are coming to Christ. I'm praying that at COM we would be a culture of inviters/bringers believing that as we do our part in bringing/inviting, God will do his part in drawing them to church, and changing their life.

  2. Pray for Participants. I know many of our areas are in need of more people to serve. Not just people, but passionate people. People that are thermostats, setting the culture of passion, excitement, and the love and honor of Christ. We want to be a church of participants. A church of people that realize "we're all in this together". As I was praying about all of this, God reminded me that this has been as been an issue in ministry from the beginning. Jesus told his disciples to pray for participants in Matthew 9:37-38 "Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Let's pray that God would add more and more workers at COM. In fact, pray specifically for the type of person you are looking for in areas that are in need right now. Pray that our Discover Events would always be full of people becoming participants in the vision that God has called us to as a church.

  3. Pray for a culture of celebration and anticipation at COM. If you've come to COM long, you know I am a die hard Ohio State fan (because I love Jesus). This past Sunday Ohio State played a night game on ABC at Penn State. Now Penn State's record is 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten Conference. So really, in regards to making the playoff/championship game, their season is over. Yet in that game, there were over 107,000 people cheering and celebrating their team so loud, that the DB reader said it was 105 in that stadium. If you know anything about sound, that is crazy loud. Now if they can celebrate like that for a team who has lost 3 games in a row, I think the church should celebrate a Savior that has defeated sin and death and won the victory over the enemy and now reigns for all eternity. Because of Jesus, sin and death have no sting or victory for those that have confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Too often, church services look like Jesus is still in the tomb, instead of the tomb being empty. Church should not look like a funeral service, but a celebration because Jesus is alive and has overcome anything that can come against us. I am praying for a church that is so excited to show up early and serve. A church that is so pumped up to hang out with each other. A church that has the most passionate worship and celebration when the band leads us in songs. A church that is responsive during the message. I am praying for a church that comes full of anticipation believing God is just getting started. I am praying for a church that when the people in our city hear the word party, they don't think of the club or bar on a friday night, but they think of Church of Motion on a Sunday morning. Join me in praying for a culture of celebration and anticipation.

  4. Pray for a church full of healthy people. I'm praying for healthy husbands and wives. For marriages to reflect the relationship between Christ and His church. I'm praying for healthy singles, to see singleness not as a burden, but as a time of blessing to focus on Christ. I'm praying for healthy dads and moms. I'm praying for children to grow up knowing Jesus loves them and has a great purpose for their lives. I'm praying for a church full of people who love God's word and live out of the overflow of what God is doing in their daily personal time with Him. I'm praying for a church full of people that learn how to feed themselves spiritually throughout the week by spending daily time with God in his word, and through prayer and worship.

  5. Pray for a church full of generous people. What would it look like if a group of people in our city lived out 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 10 For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. 11 Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. How fun would this be? Not only would we experience the joy and blessing of our resources taking on an eternal purpose, but the joy and blessing we would bring to our city. I'm praying for a church that lives out this promise from God. A church that realizes we can't outgive God. That the more generous we are, the more generous He is with us, so we then can be even more generous. I'm praying that we would be a church that experiences this kind of freedom and excitement in our finances. I'm praying for a church that leads the way in generosity in our city.

So these are currently 5 things I am praying specifically for, and boldly believing that God is going to answer. Will you join me in praying and believing for these 5 things.

We're In This Together!

"The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ." - 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NLT) *

One of my greatest passions for our church is that we are a church of participants. I envision a church where we don't show up to consume, but to contribute to the vision God has called our church to. I believe it is such a game changer step when we move from just spectating what God is doing, to actually experiencing Him do it through us. I have a vision to see every person in our church living out Ephesians 3:20 (Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us). I believe every person has been given unique gifts by God to serve others and help make the church all that God has intended it to be.

So with that said, if you have not attended our Discover Events, I want to encourage you to do so this Sunday. In fact, I believe it's the best decision you can make all weekend. It will help you begin to step into the purpose God has created you for.

Why I believe this Sunday will be a Game Changer!

I love weekends! I love doing fun things with my family. I love watching college football on Saturday. I love getting to just relax. But my favorite part of the weekends, is going to church as a family. I love church. It's a blast, and I believe every Sunday God moves in incredible ways when we come together and celebrate and proclaim Jesus.

This Sunday we conclude our Game Changer Series, which in my opinion, has been the best series we've ever done at Church of Motion. Its been such a fun series to preach and we've seen so many people put their faith into action throughout the series.

I believe we've saved the best for last in this series. This week I'm going to be preaching a message titled "The Comeback". Maybe in life right now, things aren't what you had hoped or dreamed they would be. Would you have the faith to believe that it's only halftime, and that decisions made this Sunday at COM will determine what the second half looks like. I truly believe through Christ, no matter what the current circumstance/situation is in your life, victory is yours for the taking. Show up this Sunday with celebration and anticipation.

Motion Students

Hey COM family, my name is Ben Barr and I am helping out with the student ministry at COM. This Wednesday, I will be starting a Motion Group with the students at Church of Motion to talk about the struggles of this generation and all around talk about God at 7pm. I am excited about this group and I think it's a huge opportunity for your students to grow and learn.

A big thing that would help out the student ministry, is if there are any adults that feel led to help in the youth group. If you're interested, please contact me at (479) 831-2928. I feel that students grow when they see adults seeking God and being that example. So hey, if you want to help out, don't hesitate to contact me. Beach Baptisms

This Sunday September 28th, we will celebrate all those taking their next step by getting baptized. The baptisms will take place at Siesta Key Beach at 5pm followed by a cookout. Look for the Green and White Church of Motion flags by the main picnic pavilion at Siesta Key Beach.

Baptism is the next step after salvation. Its an act of obedience since Jesus told us to get baptized and also how we go public with our faith. When dunked under water, it symbolizes that you have died to sins control over your life, and when you come up out of the water, it symbolizes that you are a new person in Christ.

"For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." - Colossians 2:12

We want to see all of our COM Family come out and celebrate all those that are getting baptized. Please bring a side dish for everyone to share. We will provide hot dogs and drinks. Bring your beach chairs and get ready to party. It's going to be awesome.

Motion Groups

We want to see people move from Disconnected to Connected to a life-giving community. Our desire is to see every person connected to a group of people where they're cared for, loved, encouraged, prayed for, supported, and known. At Church of Motion this happens through our Motion Groups.

Our Fall Semester of Motion Groups kicks off this Sunday September 28th with a Motion Group Rally at the church, where you can check out all the Motion Groups being offered this semester and choose which one you would like to join. Whether its an activity, growth, or outreach group you're looking for, we've got you covered.

I invited someone to church and it didn't go the way I hoped...

Maybe yesterday at COM was good for you, but if you were to be honest, you're bummed. You invited someone to church and they didn't end up coming. Or maybe they came yesterday, but did not respond to the Gospel like you prayed and hoped they would.

I want to encourage you if you invited someone to church and they didn't come, to not give up inviting/bringing them. You never know when they might finally come. A guy named Dustin invited me every week for a year to come to the college ministry he was leading. It took me a year to finally go and when I did I ended up giving my life to Christ that night.

For those that had someone come, but didn't respond to the message as you had hoped they would, keep inviting/bringing them back. I've learned that someone can only be in the presence of Jesus so long before He changes them. You also now have a conversation starter when you see them next. Just ask them "How was your experience at COM?" and "what did you think about what Pastor David said Sunday at Church?" Maybe they didn't respond on Sunday because God desires for you to end up leading them to Christ through your conversation.

Don't allow Satan to get you down, keep praying for that person, keep believing for that person, keep inviting/bringing that person, and one day you will celebrate the victory that Christ will have in that persons life.

"We know how to Party"

I've always said the world has out-partied the church for too long. We are celebrating lives being changed for all eternity. We are celebrating the victory that Jesus has already won. In fact, my vision is when our city hears party, the first thing that comes to their mind is Church of Motion, and not the bar/club on Friday night. The Bible tells us that heaven will be a celebration, so the church should be as well!

So with that said, let's celebrate what God did at COM today. 12 people moved from "Unsaved to Saved" my confessing Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the first time. We had 30 first time guests because you "Refused to Come Alone" and did "whatever it takes" to get people to church today. I love that we are an "Others-Centered" church. Let's celebrate 4 people moving from "Disconnected to Connected" by attending Discover COM tonight. We had 40 people "Participate" by serving on a Motion Team today. Every single one of you played a major part in the lives that were changed today.

And this is just the beginning. Let's Refuse to Come Alone next week as well believing next week will be many peoples "one day". Next Sunday we will be throwing a Tailgate Party after service and it's going to be awesome. Can't with to see you then.

BTW, tomorrow I will be writing a blog post titled "I invited someone to church, and it didn't go the way I hoped it would". This is for those that invited and the person didn't show up, or they showed up but did not respond to the Gospel.

Calling All Ladies

Good morning, Brooke here! A friend of mine introduced me to this website/app for a ladies bible study called SheReadsTruth.com and I just wanted to share it with you. Today starts a new 14 day study called, "Open Your Bibles". The first day was wonderful! Would you join me in doing this study? I always try to live by this principle, Give Jesus (at least) your first 15. I promise you, when I give Jesus the first part of my day the blessings supersede my wildest imaginations. He shows up in every part of my day, I'm a better me, my days are sweeter and much more Others-Centered. I am praying and believing that the ladies of COM would take their relationship with Christ to a new level, that we would never become stagnant in our walk, but rather move closer and closer to being the best 'you' and 'I' we can be. Refuse to Come Alone Week

Pastor David challenged us as a church this past Sunday with the question "What would happen in our city if we refused to come to church alone". He shared his vision for our church is to have a "Focused Passion" on the 312k in our city that don't know Christ. He also said that we want to have a "Whatever it Takes" culture when it comes to reaching the lost in our city.

The main passages Pastor David used were John 1:35-46 and Mark 2:1-12. The full message will be available online later this week.

So this coming Sunday is a message called "Undefeated" in our Game Changer Series. Pastor David is going to share a simple gospel message and give people a chance to respond to Christ.

This week we're asking everyone that calls COM home to go all out to invite/bring people to church believing if you can get them to church Sunday, God will do something amazing in their lives.

So here's what you can do:

  1. Pass out the Invite Cards that you were given at Church. Invite family, friends, neighbors, classmates, co-workers, gym partners, waiters/waitresses, etc.

  2. Make inviting part of your normal conversation throughout the day.

  3. Ask God to lay the people on your heart that he desires you to invite/bring to church this Sunday.

  4. Go to our Church of Motion Facebook Page, and make the "This is a Game Changer" graphic your profile picture.

  5. Meet at the church this Saturday at 9:30am and help us pass out door hangers in the neighborhoods next to COM. We will have a cookout afterwards.

  6. Pray that God will bless our efforts, that people will be open to the invitation to come to church, and that they will give their lives to Christ on Sunday.

Best Month Ever!!

September is going to be the best month we've ever had at COM!! There is so much coming up this month that we're excited about and anticipating God to move in a big way. You will hear a lot more in the coming weeks, but we wanted to give you a heads up on what's to come:

The week of September 7th-14th - Refuse to Come Alone Week!

What would happen if we did whatever it takes to invite/bring the disconnected in our city to church? We're going to equip you with so many resources to invite your lost family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc to church on Sunday September 14th where we are going to share a simple gospel message, and give people a chance to respond to Christ.

Saturday September 13th - The Big Invite

On Saturday September 13th we will all meet at the church at 9:30am and blanket the surrounding neighborhoods with door hangers inviting them to COM. Afterwards we will all come back to the church for a cookout and other fun stuff.

Sunday September 14th - Undefeated

On September 14th we're praying for so many people that don't know Christ to show up because of the way we went all out to get them there. Sundays September 14th and 21st - Discover Events

We're so excited about our new Discover Events that will help you become apart of this move of God at COM. Discover COM on September 14th and Discover Your Place on September 21st. This course will help you learn what COM is all about, and help you get connected. Dinner and Childcare are provided. Each event will be from 5-6:30pm at the church.

Sunday September 21st - Tailgate Party

Sunday September 21st were having a big tailgate party after service. We will have food, a themed photo booth, and all kinds of other fun activities. This will be one party you won't want to miss!

Sunday September 28th - Motion Groups Sunday

We can't do life alone! Our hope is that every person in our church is connected to a life-giving community. A place where you're cared for, encouraged, and growing. This happens through our Motion Groups. After service on September 28th, every group will be advertised and you'll be able to pick the group of your choice to join.

September 28th - Beach Baptisms

On Sunday September 28th from 5-7pm, we will gather as a church family to celebrate those going public with their faith through baptism. The baptisms will be at Siesta Key Beach. Pray for spiritual growth and maturity in our COM family. Pray that no matter what happens in our life, we would not waiver from our faith. Pray for our church leadership as we are always trying to develop the best ways to help people grow in their faith.

Pray for our Motion Kids Ministry. Pray for Rachel Batey and her team. Pray that the kids at COM would grow up knowing how much Jesus loves them and that He has such a big purpose for their life. Pray that kids would grow up loving the church. Pray that they would change the world. Pray in faith that we would see our kids ministry reach thousands of children and they would learn about Jesus on a level they can understand. Pray that kids would be more excited to come to church than going to Disney. Pray that at COM we would always be a church that invests in and impacts the next generation.

Pray for all the parents in our church. Pray for God's wisdom and discernment on raising our kids up in the Lord. Pray that all our kids would grow up loving Jesus and knowing how much He loves them. Pray for joy. Pray for our church family to find joy all the time, despite circumstances. To enjoy our relationship with Jesus and what He is doing in us and through us. Pray that our church family would be known for people that are so joyous. And pray for this joy to be so attractive to the community that they have to see what its all about, and would find their own joy in Jesus.

Pray

Pray for people to move from Spectators to Participants. Pray for more workers on our Motion Teams at COM. Pray specifically for a Volunteer Coordinator and Motion Groups Coordinator. Pray for more volunteers for our Motion Kids team. Pray for musicians for our Motion Worship team. Pray for more people serving in Guest Services (Parking, Greeters, VIP, Ushers, and Hospitality). Pray for our care team and that to grow where we can offer more prayer/care on Sunday's and during the week. Pray that our Motion Teams would have such a passion and joy to serve and be apart of lives being changed by Jesus. Pray that when it comes to serving our church would have a "get to" and not a "got to" attitude.

Pray that God would enlarge our churches influence/territory within our city for His glory. Pray that our church would have a strong presence and people would know who we are and what we're for. Pray that as we market our church, our logo and emblem would begin to be strongly recognized in our city. Our vision is just like when you see the golden arches you think of McDonalds, that when people see our emblem they would think of Church of Motion. That there would be so much talk that people would have to come see what it's all about.

As we celebrate Memorial Day and thank God for all the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom as a country, pray for people to experience the ultimate freedom in Christ. Pray for people to moved from "Unsaved to Saved". Pray for the lost/unsaved of our city (those that are not in a relationship with Christ). There are an estimated 312 thousand people in our city that are not saved. That's 80% of the community God has called us to. Pray for God to open their hearts to the gospel. Pray that God would draw them to Himself. Pray for our church that we would have such a passion and urgency to reach the lost in our community. Pray that we would be a church of inviters/bringers, believing if we can get people to church on Sunday in the presence of Jesus, He can do something great in their life.

Beach Baptisms

On Sunday April 27th, we will celebrate as a COM family all those getting baptized. The baptisms will take place at Siesta Key Beach at 5:30pm followed by a cookout. Look for the Green and White Church of Motion flags by the main picnic area at Siesta Key Beach.

Baptism is the next step after salvation. Its an act of obedience since Jesus told us to get baptized and also how we go public with our faith. When dunked under water, it symbolizes that you are dying to sins control over your life, and when you come up out of the water, it symbolizes that you are a new person in Christ.

"For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." - Colossians 2:12

This is a PARTY! We want to see all of our Motion Family come out and celebrate all those that are getting baptized. Please bring a side dish for everyone to share. We will provide hot dogs and drinks. Bring your beach chairs and get ready to party. It's going to be awesome.

Easter at COM

Ruins can speak of crushing defeat or perhaps of something abandoned. Maybe for you it speaks of your finances, a relationship, your physical or mental health, or another area of your life. Easter is about God turning something that seems so broken into something so beautiful. Breathing life into a situation that seems so hopeless and dead. The good news today is that the ruins come to life. Through Jesus Christ, what we see as ruins can become Glorious Ruins.

Not only will Easter feature a life-changing worship service, but also a pre-service snack spread featuring Easter favorites, A massive Motion Kids Easter Egg Hunt following service (ages 6wks-5th Grade), Easter photo booth, appearance by the Easter Bunny, giveaways, and so much more!

Christmas Eve Service

Outside The Walls Christmas Offering

As some of you know, Brooke and I, and a team of thirty-five people launched Church of Motion this past January in Sarasota. A city that is an estimated 80% un-churched. That means there are 312,000 people in are city missing out on a relationship with Christ. We are humbled at what God has done in 2013. Because of your investment, here are the kind of changed lives we can celebrate as we press on to reach 312k.

Dewayne and LeAnn first came to COM a few months ago with their kids. On that day, we invited people to make a bold decision for Christ by nailing “Spiritual Birthdate” cards to the cross. That day, thirteen people wrote down that day as the day of their salvation. After the service, Dewayne came over to me and said, "I have to be honest, I didn't nail this card to the cross because I'm not there yet. But I love this church and will be back every week." That night he sent me a picture on Face Book of his truck now sporting a Church of Motion bumper sticker. For the next two months they would show up wearing the “I Love My Church” t-shirts we gave them. I would joke with our team that non-Christians are out there advertising our church to the community. A few weeks ago, Dewayne and his fiancé LeAnn walked into church and handed me their Spiritual Birthdate cards and said "we both want to receive Christ as our Lord and Savior." We all celebrated and now actively serve so others can come to know their Savior!

We have been working hard to expand our focus by developing ministry partnerships “outside the walls,” where we invest financially and through our volunteers. Current and future partnerships include:

• The Resurrection House in Sarasota, which ministers to 150 homeless people each day where our outreach team serves.

• Selah Freedom, which rescues people from sex-trafficking and helps them find healing in Christ where we have been able to invest time and money.

• Association of Related Churches planted 70 new churches around the U.S. in 2013. On their first Sunday, over fifteen thousand people attended these new churches and 626 people gave their lives to Christ.

• Corazon del Siervo (Heart of the Servant) - Drs. Francisco and Diane Sabado in the Dominican Republic will be our first global ministry venture as a church!

I am writing to you to ask you to prayerfully consider investing in what God is doing through our church. Dewayne and LeAnn's Story

At COM our vision and passion is to see people changed by Jesus that they may live out their God-given purpose. We believe people begin to live out their God given purpose when they move from Unsaved to Saved, Disconnected to Connected, Spectators to Participants, and Self-Centered to Others-Centered. When we see people begin to take some of these steps, we celebrate it. This is why we love to hear stories! We are a church that celebrates people taking their next steps in Christ. This is what we call a WIN! With that said, here is Dewayne and LeAnn's story:

Dewayne and LeAnn first came to COM during our Great Invitation Service. We challenged our COM Family to do whatever it takes to get people that don't know Christ to this service. They were invited by Jayson who attends COM (crazy how a simple invite can change eternity for someone). It was a service where we were going to lay out the Gospel message as clearly as possible and people would have a chance to respond. We had everyone come forward and nail their spiritual birthdate to the cross. From those that gave their life to Christ years ago to the 13 people that wrote down that day as the day of their salvation. It was so powerful. After service I met Dewayne in the VIP room (our special party for first, second, and third time guests). He came over to me and said "I have to be honest, I didn't nail this card to the cross because I'm not there yet. But I love this church and will be back every week". I was so pumped. That a guy that isn't a Christian loved the church so much and felt so accepted that He said even though I'm not a believer, I want to come back here every week. Every Sunday I would pray that today would be the day Dewayne gives his life to Christ. Every week Dewayne would look so engaged in the message but wouldn't respond to the invitation. This went on for about two months.

This past Sunday Dewayne and his fiance LeAnn came into church as I was greeting guests like I aways do (before service). They handed me the Spiritual Birthdate cards we used for the Great Invitation Service. At first I thought they were just giving the cards back since they didn't use them. Then I looked at them and saw that today's date was written on the cards. I looked at them and said something like "is today the day?" They said "we both want to receive Christ as our Lord and Savior". You know its a great Sunday when people give their lives to Christ before service even begins.

Dewayne and LeAnn got baptized at our beach baptisms that night. They were so pumped about it that they brought their own video camera to video the baptism and even bought a cake for everyone at Publix with "I Love My Church" written on it.

I was thinking how cool it is that a couple felt so accepted, so welcomed, so loved, that even though for two months they weren't believers, they came every Sunday. We have said since the beginning we want our church to be a place that unchurched people love to come to. If we're going to constantly challenge people to invite their unsaved/unchurched friends, we need to provide an environment that is attractive to them. Most Sundays, Dewayne and LeAnn would wear their "I Love My Church" shirts and pull into church with a Church of Motion bumper sticker on their car. I would smile and say how cool is it that two non-Christians are pumping our church and showing up every Sunday. We say it all the time, you can only hang around Jesus for so long before He changes your life. This is another great testimony to this.

I wanted to share all this for two reasons:

  1. Let's celebrate and press on. Stories like this is why we planted a church in the city of Sarasota. There are 312,000 other people like Dewayne and LeAnn in our city that need to hear the message of Christ.

  2. I want to thank everyone serving at COM. You played a huge part in the salvation of Dewayne and LeAnn and every other person who has given their life to Christ or taken a next step at COM.

A Note from Pastor David

Hello COM Family,

This past week I shared that I have a vision for every single person in our church. My vision is that Ephesians 3:20 ("Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us" ) would be more than just a verse you hear or read, but that you would truly experience God doing more through you than you could have ever imagined for yourself. The greatest miracle we can be apart of is someone coming to Christ. There is no greater miracle than someone going from death to life which is what happens when someone puts their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

So as we talked about this past week at COM, this coming Sunday is our "Great Invitation" Service. We are asking/challenging every owner and attender at COM to bring one person that does not know Christ. This may be a neighbor, friend, family member, co-worker, someone you talk to at the gym, etc. And at Church this Sunday, I am going to give the clearest Gospel message I know how to give, and people are going to have a chance to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe God is going to do something so great this Sunday and we're asking you to be apart of it.

When you get a chance check out Mark 2:1-12, these guys didn't just invite their friend...they BROUGHT him, and Jesus totally honored their effort!! With that in mind...go ahead and begin (or continue) praying about WHO Jesus wants you to bring, and when you feel Him place a name on your heart GO FOR IT, knowing that HE has already gone before you!! Offer to take that person to breakfast before service, or out to lunch after service. Do whatever it takes to get that person to church this Sunday. Our attendance should be doubled, and 50% of our attendance should be people that don't know Christ because I am asking that all of us bring one person this week to church.

I know it can be uncomfortable and awkward to invite someone to church. But praise Jesus that He embraced the awkwardness of hanging naked on a cross, paying the price for our sins. Let's embrace the uncomfortable and awkwardness because we know eternity is at stake. There is an estimated 312,000 people in our city that don't know Christ and aren't connected to a church family. This is why God has placed our church in the city of Sarasota. Let's pray and beg God to do something great this Sunday at our church, for us to see so many people get saved, and for this to spark a movement that takes our city by storm for Christ. I can't wait for what God is going to do this Sunday.

Love Revolution

We are so pumped about the series we kicked off this past Sunday called Love Revolution. One day a guy came to Jesus and asked him what the greatest commandment was. This was pretty understandable seeing how there were around 613 commandments that the Jewish people had. He was asking what a lot of us ask in school; can I get the cliff notes? Just tell me what I need to know. The crazy part is Jesus actually answered the question. Usually Jesus would respond to questions with a question or a parable. This time he answered the question directly in Matthew 22:37-40:

"37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If we put this command into practice it would change the world. It would change the state of our economy, it would change our marriages, kids, businesses, relationships, and the quality of our lives. It would change the world and the course of history. Jesus started the Love Revolution around 2,000 years ago and the church today is called to carry it on. This is what Love Revolution is all about.

We want to be a church that leads the way in generosity to our city. One of the things we're are doing as part of our Love Revolution Series is Project 5:13. This comes from Galatians 5:13 that tells us to "serve others in Love". Pastor David shared with our Church that God gave him a vision for our church to be a big part of wiping out homelessness in Sarasota. God has begun opening up doors for us to start taking the steps towards this. We are partnering with Resurrection House, a ministry that provides food, shelter, showers, clothes and laundry for the homeless. During our Love Revolution Series, we are filling up bags for the homeless with essentials they need (i.e. sunscreen, bug spray, bath supplies, etc). Our goal is to fill up over 100 bags to give out. You can help by picking up a bag at church. Each bag has a list of what you can fill the bag with. Let's be a church that serves our city and continues the Love Revolution started by Jesus that will change our world.

We're so pumped about what is going to be started throughout this series, and it's just the beginning. I hope you'll join us!

Nothing is Wasted

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." - Romans 8:28

How awesome is it that we have the promise from God that when we are following his purpose for our live, he works EVERYTHING out for good. Even the circumstances and situations that seem like no good could possibly come from. Even in the times when things happen that don't make sense.

The reality is that God wastes nothing. While God does not do evil, he uses all things to bring glory to himself, to draw people to Jesus, and to bring deeper purpose and meaning to the Christian’s life. God really is able to use all things for good, for those called according to his purpose. Let this verse bring peace, hope, and joy despite the circumstance or situation you are currently facing.

Baby Dedications

At Church of Motion, Baby Dedications are a time for parents to commit themselves to raising their child God’s way. They are a joint expression of a parent’s desire to raise Godly children and our commitment as a church to empowering parents in that calling. These events, typically held a couple times a year, are a powerful time for parents to embrace the responsibility they’ve been given by God and to catch a vision of the impact they can make in their child’s life. We make these events special by encouraging the whole family to get involved, having some fun, offering family pictures, and occasionally making a dad cry. We want this to be an event parents will always remember. Baby dedication events also provide us with an opportunity to express our commitment to helping families raise God-honoring kids. And we count it an honor to be entrusted with that incredible privilege. We invite all families with children ages 0 – 3 years to participate in the dedication. We will be having Baby Dedications on Sunday May 12th as part of our Mothers Day celebration at COM.
We would love to celebrate with you as you dedicate your child. There will be a parents meeting with Pastor David on Wednesday May 1st from 7:30-8:30pm at the church for all those that would like to participate in the baby dedication.

If something is healthy it grows. In fact, if you see a healthy church, there are healthy leaders leading that church. At Church of Motion we want to see people healthy. A healthy walk with Christ, marriages, kids, dating, business, etc. When we are healthy in these areas we thrive, and we enjoy life.

Our hope is that you would live out of overflow. Meaning everything you do will come out of the overflow of your personal relationship with Jesus. Our biggest priority should be spending time with Him, getting refreshed, renewed, and filled to do all He is calling us to do in this life.

Maybe one of the best things you can do is sit down and write out a personal growth plan.

Easter 2013 Recap

Hey Motion Family let's celebrate like crazy what God did on Easter Sunday at Church of Motion! The world has out partied the church for way too long, it's time for that to change. We serve a God that turned a bloodstained cross into an empty tomb, He's alive, and we are apart of His Church! We GET TO be apart of Jesus changing lives for all eternity. He does the supernatural and miraculous through us. There is no greater joy than getting to experience Jesus changing someone's live through you!

Let's celebrate because:

*You went all out to invite/bring people to Church believing if you could get them in front of Jesus, their lives could be changed. We had over 50 VIPs (first time guests) and the VIP party was crazy after service. The room was packed and people didn't want to leave.

*You truly demonstrated what it means to lead the way in guest services. Over and over our guests talked about how they were blown away by how welcomed, loved, and honored they felt! The sermon starts in the parking lot.

*You understand that excellence honors God and inspires people and so every one of our teams gave it all they had.

*You truly unify under the vision to see people changed by Jesus that they may live out their God-given purpose. Believing that when people move from Unsaved to Saved, Disconnected to Connected, Spectators to Participants, and Self - Centered to Others-Centered they begin to experience the potential and purpose they were created to live with.

*You lead the way in Generosity. Because you're generous we were able to go above and beyond to honor our guests. The family that received the Disney Tickets said that they've always wanted to take their kids to Disney, but can't afford it. They were blown away that we provided a Disney trip for them. This and other things we do is possible because of you.

We had 200 people in attendance, and best of all, we had 17 People stand up to receive Jesus as the Lord and Savior. It doesn't get any better than that.

So let's celebrate that! And let God's faithfulness on Easter lead us forward into seeing our city turned upside down for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He said that He WOULD build HIS CHURCH and nothing could stop it (Matthew 16:18), and we are seeing Him do it right in front of our eyes!

My hope is that every week we will do whatever it takes to invite/bring lost people from our city to Church where they will hear about Jesus. My hope is that every Sunday we come with that kind of excitement and expectation that God is going to do something great.

I love my Church! Let's celebrate and press on to reach every single person in our city for Christ.

Easter Sunday at COM

Do you ever feel like you can’t get ahead? Like the world is against you? We know what it’s like to be overwhelmed. We want to help.

Overwhelmed is a series starting at Church of Motion Easter Sunday. This is a candid, honest teaching on depression, stress, anxiety, finances, purpose, and how to not be led by your feelings.

Easter Sunday is going to be insane at Church of Motion. Not only are we kicking off our Overwhelmed Series with "How to Overcome being Overwhelmed", but we also have all kinds of other cool things happening for Easter. Disney Tickets Giveaway, Easter Photo Booth, Easter Egg Hunt for the kids, and a service that you won't want to miss. Make sure you show up early to take advantage of everything offered Easter Sunday. Service starts at 10am. Hope to see you Easter Sunday at COM for the start of a series that we believe will change your life.

Motion Groups Signup

We believe one of the changes that happens in our lives that help us live out our God-given purpose is when we move from Disconnected to Connected to a life-giving community. Motion Groups is where this happens! Motion Groups are a place where you can be ministered to, cared for, protected, encouraged, prayed for, and grow in your walk with Christ. We can't do life alone!

This Sunday March 10th you will be able to signup for the Motion Group of your choice after service. Each group will have a table where you can check out what the group is about, and pick which group you would like to join.

There will also be pamphlets for each group in the Motion Group area at the Church. You will also be able to look up/join groups and communicate with your group online on our website within the next couple weeks.

Motion Groups are such a big part of Church of Motion. We want to be a church of small groups not just with small groups. This means we would love to see everyone in our church connected to a Motion Group. This is how important we think Motion Groups are to our growth in our walk with Christ.

Motion Track Time Change

We're heading into our third week of the Motion Track. We had 23 people attend Church 101 and 17 of those committed to be owners at Church of Motion. This was an historic day as this was the first group of people outside of our Launch Team to take ownership of the vision here at Church of Motion. So Awesome!

Essentials 201 was this past Sunday where people learned how to develop healthy habits to continue to grow in their walk with Christ.

If you attended either of the Motion Track classes so far, your next step is to attend Discover 301 this Sunday. If you missed the first two classes, don't worry, you can jump into 301 this Sunday. At 301, you will discover your personality/gifts and use this to find your best serving fit in ministry here at Church of Motion.

We are changing the time of Motion Track. Motion Track Classes will now always run immediately after Service from 11:30am-12:45pm. This is due to an overwhelming majority of people saying that this time is more doable than the original scheduled time in the evening. Childcare will always be provided. Your child will also be fed lunch at every Motion Track class. For adults attending classes, lunch will be provided at Church 101. Every other class, light snacks and beverages will be provided.

Motion Track Begins This Sunday

This Sunday we launch our Motion Track. The Motion Track is the way to get connected/involved at Church of Motion.

This Sunday, Church 101 will be happening right after service from 11:30am-1pm instead of the normal 6-7:30pm time (there is a small football game this Sunday evening). We will provide childcare and lunch for you and your child. At Church 101 you will hear about our purpose, leadership structure, how we handle finances, our beliefs, and at the end you will have a chance to become an "Owner" at Church of Motion.

Thoughts on Launch Sunday

Wow!! Launch Sunday was amazing at Church of Motion. Over a year of preparing, planning, and prepping has gone into launching our church in the city of Sarasota. We love this city and we have a passion to see this city turned upside down for Jesus. Sarasota is an estimated 80% un-churched which means out of the 350,000 people living Sarasota County, 240,000 people are not connected to a church. We want to see this changed. The Bible says the church is the hope of the world because it is God's primary tool to reach the world before he decides to return. This is why we want to see people move from disconnected to connected to a life-giving community. We believe to truly live out God's purpose, and to begin to thrive in this life, being connected to a healthy church is crucial.

This past Sunday kicked off what we believe is a move of God in our city. Over 140 people attended service and we saw 9 people surrender their lives to Christ. We are so excited about what happened and believe this is just the beginning, and the best is still to come. Our Motion Teams were absolutely amazing on Sunday and are a huge part of why our launch was so awesome. Jesus gets all the glory and we get the joy of being apart of it.

THRIVE in 2013

Thrive! Wouldn't it be awesome if your life was described by that word. We believe it should be! But if we're honest, many of us wouldn't describe our life by this word. In fact, many of us are probably living just trying to survive. At Church of Motion, we don't believe it should be this way. We believe you were created to Thrive, and we believe this kind of life can start now.

This starts by getting connected to a life-giving church. Church of Motion is a non-demoinational Christian Church, and we believe church should be fun, relevant, and exciting. Church should be an enjoyable experience, so we have created a casual and comfortable environment where you can grab a free cup of coffee, relax, and be yourself.

During each service we offer creative and exciting programs for children. Motion Kids is from 6 weeks through 5th grade, where kids can learn about Jesus on their level in a fun, safe, and clean environment. So whether you're brand new at discovering who God is, or you have been a Christ follower for a long time, we invite you to join us and begin to Thrive. We believe 2013 can be your best year yet!

Launch Team Meeting

Our next Launch Team meeting will be Sunday January 6th from 4-7pm at Church of Motion. We need everyone that will be on our Launch Team there for this meeting because this will be our final training and prep for the preview service on January 12th. Dinner will be provided. For those of us that have kids, please find a babysitter for this day because we will not have childcare. Once again start planning now to be there on this day, its extremely important that everyone on our team is there.
